UPDATE: Two arrested in Salisbury attempted bank robbery

The Salisbury Police Department say two Salisbury women have been arrested, in connection to an attempted robbery at a local bank, that happened on Friday morning.

Police say they have charged 29-year-old Carin Purcell and 26-year-old Emily Skelton, both of Salisbury, for the attempted robbery at Shore Bank on April 15. Detectives say they were able to identify Purcell and Skelton after reviewing bank surveillance footage, as well as surveillance footage from surrounding businesses.

According to the report, on the surveillance footage, Purcell was seen as a passenger in a car, that then parked at the University Park parking lot before the attempted robbery, with Skelton as the driver. Purcell then got out of the car, walked to Shore Bank, and after leaving the bank, ran back to the car.

Police say they located the getaway vehicle on Naylor Street, a short time after the incident occurred. The driver of the getaway vehicle, identified as Skelton, and the passenger of the vehicle, identified as Purcell, were both arrested without incident while they were still in the vehicle.

After her arrest, Purcell was charged with attempted robbery, attempted theft, assault second degree, and conspiracy to commit robbery, while Skelton was charged with conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit theft, and conspiracy to commit assault.

Both women were taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center, where Officials say they are being held on $100,000 bond each.
