Fire causes $8k in damage to Salisbury home

Officials say that they are investigating a house fire that happened in Salisbury on Monday night.

According to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office, at 11:02 p.m., 25 firefighters responded to a two story wood frame duplex on Brown Street for a blaze.

Officials say the estimated loss of the home was $8,000 while the estimated loss of personal belongings was $2,000. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to control the blaze.

The fire began in the attic stairway and officials say the fire was caused by an accidental, electrical failure.
