UPDATE: One airlifted from crash in Houston, Route 14 re-opened

Delaware State Police say they are investigating a serious crash on Milford-Harrington Highway – Route 14 in Houston, after a serious crash closed down part of the roadway, earlier Tuesday.
The incident reportedly happened around 2:10 PM, and involved a pick-up truck and a dump truck. Police say 54-year-old Eugene Tiberi, of Chesapeake City, Maryland was driving a 2017 Kenworth dump truck westbound on Route 14, near Cams Fortune Way. At the same time, Police say 29-year-old Joshua Panther, who was driving a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck eastbound on Route 14, crossed the centerline, into the westbound lane. According to the report, Tiberi swerved to the right in an attempt to avoid hitting the pickup head-on, leading the Nissan to strike the left side of the dump truck.
Police say Tiberi was wearing his seat belt, and was taken to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital by EMS, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and released.
Panther, who was apparently not wearing a seat belt, was airlifted from the scene, to Christiana Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
Investigators say their investigation is on-going at this time, and that charges have not been filed. Route 14 was closed between Deep Grass Lane and Broad Street for about three and a half hours, while the crash was investigated, and cleared.
