Special enrollment for health insurance during coronavirus outbreak extended to June 15th

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Maryland Health Benefit Exchange announced on Wednesday that the special enrollment period will be extended to June 15th.

This special enrollment began in mid-March to help Marylanders during the coronavirus outbreak. To date, more than 10,000 Maryland citizens have enrolled in health coverage during this special enrollment period. More than 85% qualified for free coverage or financial help to lower the cost of a private loan, and more than half of the enrollees are young adults between the ages of 18 and 34.

The enrollment period began on March 16th and will now run through June 15th. Uninsured Marylanders can enroll through the state’s health insurance marketplace by clicking here.
