BREAKING: Maryland voters pass redistricting amendment
MARYLAND – The Associated Press (AP) has called the race on Maryland Ballot Question 3.
The measure would adopt a state congressional amendment that would allow the state legislature to redraw congressional district lines, which could impact Republican hold on Maryland’s Congressional District 1, currently held by Rep. Andy Harris (R).
The AP called the race at 9:33 p.m. with the vote in favor of the measure coming in at almost 60%. So far, most of the votes against the measure originate from the Eastern Shore and several Eastern Shore leaders have expressed opposition to the measure.
Gov. Wes Moore, who the AP has also called as the winner of Maryland’s gubernatorial race, has been adamant in his support of the measure.
WMDT will continue to update as results come in.
