New Ashley Furniture store location

MILFORD, Del.– Construction is underway for a new 30,000 square-foot Ashley Furniture Showroom. Co-CEO Justin Barnes shared with WMDT why Milford was selected for the new location.

“We find that Milford has now become this new sunrise area that people continue to grow towards,” Barnes said. “We also think that Milford is very much everyday people, whether it’s first responders, whether it’s teachers, whether it’s the good middle class of Delmarva.”

But the new Ashley store isn’t just bringing new furniture to Milford– it’s also bringing new jobs to the surrounding community.

“We’re going to easily transcend 100 people that will be working various jobs,” Barnes said. “Whether that’s in professional sales on the showroom floor, whether that’s order fulfilment in the warehouse, whether that’s service after the sale or whether that’s order entry in an office type of position, we’re very proud of our teammates.”

But for Barnes, the most impactful part of a new location is expanding Ashley Furniture’s philanthropic efforts.

“One of our initiatives that we’re most proud of is our Hope to Dream initiative,” Barnes said. “We are planning to distribute probably 50-100 beds to families who are in need.”

Not only is the 30,000 square-foot showroom a new place for people in Milford to shop, it is also an opportunity for jobs that will benefit the community for years to come.
