Dagsboro couple arrested for shoplifting in Millsboro

The Millsboro Police report that they arrested a Dagsboro couple after a shoplifting incident.

Officials say that on Tuesday, around 5PM, Millsboro Officers responded to Bj’s Wholesale in reference to an attempted shoplifting complaint.

When officers arrived at Bj’s, they spoke with an employee who said that she saw a couple hiding merchandise in a shopping cart. The witness explained to officers that the couple placed a jacket on top of the merchandise, and also had their children sit on the jacket to further hide the items.

Officials say that when the employee approached the couple to in order to find out if they were hiding any items, Amy Hall, 28, pushed the witness causing her to get a scratch minor on her hand.

According to the report, as the couple was leaving through the front door of Bj’s, another employee tried to stop them when David Hall, 28, pushed the employee. This apparently allowed the Halls to get out to their car.

Witnesses told officials that the couple left with the merchandise and their children, however they were able to take note of the registration number of the suspect vehicle.

Further investigation found that the car was registered to Amy Hall, and officials were able to get a description of the man and woman which matched the registered owner of the car.

On Wednesday, warrants were drafted for David Hall and Amy Hall for the following charges:

  • Robbery 2nd
  • Shoplifting
  • Conspiracy 2nd
  • Three counts on endangering the welfare of a child

Both suspects were able to be apprehended in the Lewes area by Delaware State Police on Wednesday afternoon, both were turned over to the Millsboro Police Department for processing, and were held at SCI on default of a $5,000 secured bond.
