UPDATE: Names released in fatal OCPD officer-involved crash

Officials have released the names of both the officer and pedestrian involved in a fatal crash in an Ocean City this week.

Lindsay Richard, public affairs specialist for the Ocean City Police Department, confirms Jefferey Yale Delong was killed after being struck by an Ocean City police vehicle around 1:11 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 94th Street and Coastal Highway.

Authorities say Delong, 67, was from Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

The officer involved, Officer Xeniya Patterson, did not suffer any physical injuries as a result of the collision.

The department says Patterson is on paid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
