Camden Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Murdering 72-Year-Old Girlfriend
CAMDEN, Del. – A Camden man has been sentenced to three decades in prison for murdering his girlfriend.
According to the Delaware Department of Justice (DOJ), 66-year-old Gregory Bratcher was sentenced to 30 years of Level V prison on Oct. 7. He plead guilty to one count of second degree murder in connection with the death of his girlfriend, 72-year-old Marjeanne Lande.
“This was a tragic loss,” said Attorney General Kathy Jennings. “I am grateful to our DOJ team and to our partners in the Delaware State Police for their dedication in this case. I hope it will bring the victim’s family some measure of peace as they heal.”
On Jun. 30, 2024, Delaware State Police were called out to a residence in Camden, after Lande’s family members called for a welfare check. Police were let into the residence by the Lande’s family when they arrived on scene, and located Lande on the floor of her living room deceased, with bruising to her head, chest, and arms. Bratcher, Lande’s live-in boyfriend, was identified as a suspect and subsequently made statements that he hit and grabbed Lande before leaving her on the floor and fleeing the residence.
Lande’s death was subsequently ruled a homicide. As WMDT previously reported, Bratcher was indicted by a Kent County Grand Jury on Nov. 4, 2024, and taken into custody four days later.
