Historic Globe Theater Sold to Locals in Berlin

BERLIN, Md. – The Town of Berlin announced that the historic Globe Theater, has been purchased by new owners, and they’re local.

The brick building was built in 1910, and since then, has been a staple, adding to the charm of the downtown area.

Ivy Wells is the Director of Economic and Community Development in Berlin, and emphasized the importance of the historic spot.

“The Globe Theater in Berlin, is an icon here.” Said Wells. “We can not have The Globe be empty for too long.”

The property originally went on sale in June 2026, after former owners “Oaked at the Globe” closed permanently. Although plans for the building have not yet been announced, the town shares it’s excitement in the venue’s reopening.

“And I’m so thrilled that locals bought it, and it’s going to be something special.” Said Wells. “Stay tuned, everyone will be very, pleasantly surprised.”
