Cambridge Library Planning to Close for Remodeling

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – A branch of the Cambridge-Dorchester county library is planning to close their doors for remodeling.

The library’s cambridge branch has been undergoing renovations over the past few years to address flooding damage.

The remodel would replace flooring damaged by floodwaters on the lower levels.

It’s the latest phase in remodeling for the decades old library branch.

“It’s really important for us as a matter of, health and safety for everyone that works and volunteers here. And we just want everything to be ADA compliant while we’re doing that. There’s some damage, like trying to get into the elevator…” says Library Assistant Director, Julie Kennedy.

The Cambridge branch is preparing to close in January, 2027, and is expected to be closed for an estimated six to eight weeks.
