North Millsboro Bypass Shows Traffic Progress Over First Year

(MILLSBORO, Del) – The Delaware Department of Transportation is celebrating the one year anniversary of the North Millsboro bypass.

DelDOT says the bypass has made a tremendous difference in the town, helping alleviate heavy traffic from the downtown Millsboro area.

The new overpass has been so successful, the town was able to close their Main Street this past summer to hold their Independence Day Celebrations.

DelDOT says the success of the North Millsboro Bypass is a good sign for other long-term highway plans.

“It’s much less. And, you know, the, you know, the regular feature of every afternoon when mount air lights out of miles long back up coming into town and the added delays and the safety concerns at all that all created. Those are all thing of the past,” says DelDOT Chief Engineer, Mark Luszcz.

The bypass has helped re-direct more than 1,300 trucks away from Downtown Millsboro.
