Eastern Shore Art Exhibit Hosted By Peninsula Gallery

LEWES, Del.– In honor of it’s thirtieth anniversary the Peninsula Gallery hosted the “Eastern Shore” art exhibit that highlights artists who contributed to some of the gallery’s first show.

Marketing manager Shelby Cooke says what makes this exhibit is how each artists portrays the eastern shore through their artwork.

“They all have different styles and they all bring their own unique twist to the theme,” Cooke said. “So the event shows different aspects of the life here on the eastern shore so it’s not just about the landscapres but also the things that bring us joy here on the eastern shore.”

Art lover Jay Lustig says he is excited to surprise his wife with a piece of art from the eastern shore collection.

“We were looking for a specific painting of a local seashore type of image,” Lustig said. “We popped in about two weeks ago and fell in love with this painting and my wife just adored it. My wife has no idea but she will find it in the house when she gets home this afternoon.”

But Cooke says she hopes visitors feel a sense of calmness when they walk through the exhibit.

“I hope people take away from the exhibit the different styles and the appreciation for how we can capture this beautiful area we live in,” Cooke said. “And I hope that they enjoy just the serenity of it when the come to the gallery.”

The Eastern Shore art exhibit is on display at the Peninsula Gallery until september 27th.
