New women’s transitional center opens in Laurel

Two local women are joining forces to help uplift women and their families in their community. On Monday afternoon, Hanan Parker and Jerry Royal opened a center called Agape Love Transitional Home in Laurel, DE. The center is aimed at helping women and who have experienced issues with substance abuse, homelessness, and domestic abuse. Through the help of local sponsors, the center will be offering shelter for up to four families at a monthly low cost, but most importantly offer services during their stay to get them and their families back on their feet.
Hanan Parker, the CEO of Agape Love Transitional Home says, “I just want to give back to the women and children and make sure that they have stable environments to stop anymore traumatic events that may transpire for the children.”
Parker tells us they are in the process of enrolling families into the home, but are looking to open more centers in the coming years.
