welcome back, hayley, some good news for salisbury university’s field hockey team.. that’s right, and this is a team that’s off to a very solid start so you can bet that we’ll be hearing about them all fall really. the national field hockey coaches association released its most recent rankings on tuesday, and the seagulls just continue to climb the list. moving into the number four spot in the nation su started the regular season ranked seventh and have moved up a spot each week. they notched a pair of wins this week including a three to one win over the college of jew jersey. the sea gulls look to continue moving on up, as theyface lynchburg college today at 7 pm some uplifting news as the community continues to rally around stephen decatur head football coach bobby knox and his family. knox toook a leave of absence from the school as his grandson eli is undergoing treatment for a rare form of braincancer. the community set up a go fund me page for the adorable two and a half year old eli to assist with his family’s medical bills. in less than a month the page has raised twelve thousand, nine hundred and twelve dollars of its 15 thousand dollar goal! you can help reach the goal by visiting www.gofundme.com/ foreli. tim tebow made a huge impression on the football world as as a heisman trophy winner and two time national champion quarterback at the universtiy of florida. after dabbling a bit in the nfl, tebow is once again a professional athlete- of sorts. the new york mets signed the 29 year old to their instructional league in florida, and what do you know. he hits a homerun in his very first at bat as a pro baseball player. off the first pitch no less. tebow hopes that success this fall will carry over to consideration once spring training rolls around. that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page at
