May 17 – Pasture Walk To Control Buttercups

This spring has brought weeks of rainy weather. With all the mud and rain, controlling pasture weeds has been challenging. This pasture walk will focus on controlling broadleaf weeds (including buttercups) in order to best manage pastures for weed control into the summer season. Identify weed species and learn which may be toxic to horses. Fox Wood Farm has a rational grazing system that will showcase strategies on how to promote pasture growth and productivity. Learn when the optimal time of the year is to reseed and fertilize pastures.

In addition to the pasture walk, local farm businesses will be in attendance to highlight pasture and fertilizer services available to small acreage farms. Great opportunity to come out and regain control of your pastures! Light dinner to be served. Door prizes to be awarded.

Pre-registration by Tuesday May 31, 2016 is required due to light dinner being served. Register online at http://goawaybuttercup.eventbrite.com. This is a free program for all. Contact Jessie Flores at 410-632-1972 for additional information and driving directions.
