UMES offers new cybersecurity masters program

University of Maryland Eastern Shore is now offering a masters program in cybersecurity and applications are still being accepted.

School officials tell 47 ABC the goal behind the program is to train the next level of information technology professionals to look out for the kind of cybersecurity threats we continue to see.

The masters program will prepare students with the skills and knowledge to manage cybersecurity response teams, as well as protect information technology and cybersecurity infrastructure from hackers.
.
The first group of enrollees in the program will be limited to Maryland residents, but the university says it anticipates it will be authorized to accept students from other states beginning this fall.
