Two-Vehicle Crash Near Bridgeville Kills Two

BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – A two-vehicle crash near Bridgeville killed two people Friday.

Delaware State Police say a Toyota Camry was traveling east on Seashore Highway, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle entered the westbound lane of travel and collided with the front of a Peterbilt dump truck.

After the collision, the Peterbilt became engulfed in fire.

The driver of the Camry, a 19-year-old man from Millsboro, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, a 23-year-old woman from Honduras, was taken to an area hospital where she died.

The driver of the Peterbilt, a 58-year-old man from Ridgely, Maryland, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A third vehicle, a Peterbilt tractor and a loaded car trailer traveling behind the dump truck, was able to avoid the collision and the driver was uninjured.

Delaware State Police continue to investigate the crash.
