Delaware OHS and Law Enforcement Kick Off Bike Week
(FREDERICA, Del) – Delaware law enforcement is reminding drivers to share the road with motorcyclists, even after the summer ends.
This comes as the Delaware Office of Highway Safety kicks off Delmarva Bike Week, encouraging safer driving with motorcyclists on the road.
According to the OHS, Delaware has already seen 14 motorcycle related deaths this year, nearly matching 2025’s total of 17 deaths.
It’s something Delaware Secretary, Josh Bushweller says they’re trying to prevent as they head towards the cooler months.
And that happens when drivers and motorcyclists cooperate.
“Motorists and motorcyclists both have the same exact rights and privileges on the roadway. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a bike or if you’re in a car. We’re all we all have the same rules. We all have to be vigilant. We all have to have give space. We all have to be aware,” says Delaware Secretary of Safety & Homeland Security, Joshua Bushweller
