Police Seize More than 17 Ounces of Marijuana, 100 Bags of Heroin in Princess Anne Traffic Stop

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – The Princess Anne Police Department arrested one following a traffic stop on Thursday night, in which police seized more than 17 ounces of marijuana and several other illicit substances.

Police arrested 21-year-old Shaquan Maddox on charges of possessing narcotics and marijuana with the intent to distribute, two counts of possessing a non-cannabis controlled dangerous substance, and possessing an opiate without a prescription. He was presented to a District Court Commissioner and was subsequently held without bond.

On Sept. 3, at 10:30 p.m., Princess Anne Police conducted a traffic stop on Somerset Avenue near Broad Street after observing a traffic infraction. During the stop, officers reportedly developed probable cause to search the vehicle. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • Approximately 484 grams of suspected marijuana
  • Approximately 100 individually packaged bags of suspected heroin
  • An unspecified amount of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately 45 strips of suspected Suboxone
  • A digital scale
  • Unidentified pills
  • $546 in U.S. currency.
