UPDATE: Pinehurst Elementary Lockdown

Salisbury, Md. – Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office previously announced that Pinehurst Elementary was placed under lockdown for a period of time for reasons currently undisclosed.
The Sheriffs Office has announced that the school transitioned from lockdown to SAFE IN PLACE.
Reports say that the investigation remains ongoing and WMDT will release more details on this incident when available.
UPDATE:
Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office announced that Pinehurst Elementary is back to normal operations. Law enforcement performed a comprehensive investigation of the school after a student reported seeing an individual with a weapon. Reports say that no threat was found and the report of a firearm was determined to be unfounded.
The school is placed under a “Hold” protocol, keeping students and teachers in their respective classrooms.
