Salisbury one of top metro areas in country for job growth

The United States conference of mayors has released its annual metro jobs report, and Salisbury is now in the top 15% in the country in terms of job growth. In 2015 the Salisbury metro area surpassed its previous employment peak from before the recession.
Salisbury boasts the 42nd fastest growth of jobs among over 300 of american cities. In addition, Salisbury was not only the fastest growing job market in Maryland, but the entire North East United States.
Mayor Jake Day spoke to 47ABC about the numbers, and he says it’s a confidence boost knowing recent decision’s such as giving tax breaks to businesses and the downtown development plan seem to be working. “This is a great reminder that those decisions are pointing us in the right direction, and we gotta keep on those commitments. We can’t start second guessing ourselves now, this is a moment where we’re heading in the right direction we got to keep heading in the right direction.” he tells 47ABC. Day adds that the co-dependence of other cities and counteis played a huge role in the growth.
