Boxcar40 giving away food to the community
PITTSVILLE, Md.- A local restaurant gave out food on Wednesday because they are closing their doors due to the coronavirus.
Boxcar40 was selling food from 4 p.m. to 8 p.pm because they need to get rid of their food that they had stocked in their freezer.
We are told that their market had a great response, and they sold out within thirty minutes.
“We had a line half way across the parking lot, they came in we let them go through the walk-in, and they bought our produce and all that kind of stuff, which is great for me because I’m going to throw it in the dumpster and that’s where its going to go because I’m not selling any food anymore,” Paul Suplee, owner of Boxcar40, said.
Boxcar40’s doors will be closed until the pandemic blows over.
They feel that this is the best precaution to keep their guests and employees safe.
