Sussex County Establishes Two New Programs for Emergency Services
SUSSEX COUNTY, Del.– Sussex county is launching two new programs for local fire and ambulance companies that could end up saving taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.
At the County Council meeting on September 1, the meeting unanimously approved two elective programs.
The first program is a centralized billing program and the second one is an ambulance purchase cost share program. Both of the programs have the goal of providing financial support for local fire and EMS companies.
Finance Director for the Sussex County Government Gina Jennings says that these programs are about improving sustainability for years to come.
“So this initative, while infusing additional money into the ambulance service we’re also able to make the dollars go further,” Jennings said. “So this should help with sustainablity and help them be able to budget better for the future.”
