MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department has arrested a man after they say he fired shots at a large party while under the influence of alcohol.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Evens Amisal of Milford on charges of carrying a concealed deadly weapon, first degree reckless endangering, resisting arrest, and driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Amisal was arraigned and committed to the Delaware Department of Correction in lieu of $17,100 secured bail. He was also issued a no-contact order with the victims.

On Sunday, Aug. 30, around 6:46 a.m., the Milford Police Department responded to the 900 block of North Church Street following shots being fired at a large party. Upon arrival, officers located a group of individuals gathered around a running vehicle, which was occupied by two people. During the initial contact, officers observed that the operator of the vehicle, later identified as Amisal, exhibited signs of alcohol impairment.

Further investigation led to the discovery of a Taurus 9mm handgun hidden inside the vehicle’s center console. Officers also located a spent shell casing on the ground nearby, corroborating the initial reports of gunfire. Amisal initially resisted officers’ commands, but was taken into custody without further incident.
