Remembering Nathan Carney
SALISBURY, Md. — Whether he was chasing down a story, lending a helping hand or making his coworkers laugh, Nathan Carney left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
As a reporter and producer, Nathan was passionate about storytelling and committed to making sure people’s stories were heard.
“I have such fond memories of driving to and fro all across Delmarva, and he always went the extra mile for a story, and I’m going to miss him very much,” said Andrea Duran.
Nathan was also a people person in everything he did.
“He had this way of walking into a room, and no matter what was happening, he would just get everybody to laugh or smile, whether it’s through a joke or, you know, just talking about day to day stuff. Nathan was like, truly a friend that you could rely on if you’re having a tough day,” said Han Cechini.
Nathan’s playful personality left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
“Nathan taught me two very important things. The first was patience, because he did love to goof around, but he was always well-intentioned. But the other one Not taking myself too seriously,” said Mike Lawrence.
When someone needed help, Nathan was someone his coworkers could count on.
“Nathan was always the first one in the newsroom to offer to lend a helping hand. To offer to stay late. To, you know, ask his coworkers what was going on, what he could help with,” said Sophia Peters.
Heidi Kristine remembered Nathan as someone who brought energy and joy into the newsroom.
“Nathan was a light in our newsroom — always making everyone laugh, sparking friendly debates, and sharing the latest celebrity gossip.
He had an unforgettable personality that filled the room that made the most stressful and busy days a little bit easier.
He aspired to be an entertainment journalist — and he would have been a phenomenal one.”
From his dedication to storytelling to the way he supported those around him, Nathan’s colleagues say he was someone they will never forget.
He will be remembered not only for the stories he told, but for the laughter, kindness and friendship he brought to the people around him.
We honor Nathan — not only for the reporter he was meant to be, but the person he was meant to become.
