Driver Charged Following Fatal Car Crash in Accomack Co.
ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. – The Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 36-year-old woman on Sunday morning.
On Aug. 23, at 8:37 a.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on northbound Route 13, at Gospel Temple Road, near Keller. According to the preliminary investigation, a 2012 Mercedes-Benz C300 collided with the front of a 2018 Dodge Journey.
The driver of the 2018 Dodge Journey, identified as 36-year-old Jessica Rode Morris, of Hallwood, Virginia, sustained fatal injuries. Police say her next of kin notification has been made.
The driver of the Mercedes-Benz, identified as 18-year-old Jacob Ishmal Adonis Kamara, of Dover, Delaware and an adult female passenger both sustained non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to a hospital for treatment. Police say Kamara was charged with reckless driving as a result of the accident.
