City Of Salisbury Third Friday Pencils In Back To School Theme

SALISBURY, Md. —  This Friday marks the next third Friday, and back-to-school is already penciled in as the theme.

 It’s that time of year where kids are preparing to go back to school picking up school supplies, pencils, notebooks and more. In kicking off the school year, local businesses are working hard to give back to students through a school supply giveaway. “Talks With Tiff Incorporated” Director Tiffany Moore is building more unity in the community.

Talks With Tiff Inc. Director Tiffany Moore said, “We will have book bags, also clear book bags, which are now in necessity for Wicomico Middle and High School. We’ll have folders, notebooks. We’ll even have some earbuds. We have the cap is giving away some sneakers. We will also have toiletries. Um, pretty much everything you can think of from K through.”

If you aren’t a student, there’s ton of festivities for people to enjoy. Whether its live music from the High School Dropouts preforming from 5 to 8 or shopping the local businesses and vendors, the city of Salisbury is ready to enjoy a night of fun.

City of Salisbury business and community development, Derek Jarmon said, “We’ve got our TAPS program. That is always a huge year for our families, for our patrons here downtown. We’re going to have 100 plus vendors. We will have some extended hours for our downtown businesses. And as always, this good, positive fun, which I think we all need in this day and age.”
