Smoking Materials Cause Fire at Hebron Home
HEBRON, Md. – The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal has determined the cause of a housefire in Hebron to be the result of improperly discarded smoking materials.
On Friday afternoon, crews with the Hebron Volunteer Fire Company and other area departments responded to a structure fire in the 27000 block of Log Cabin Road after a passerby discovered a fire at the exterior deck of the property. The fire spread, engulfing a portion of wooden fence near the deck.
Twenty-five firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, successfully putting out the blaze in 20 minutes. The total damage to the house and its contents is estimated to be valued at $60,000.
