Motorcyclist Airlifted Following High-Speed Crash Near Harrington

HARRINGTON, Del. — A motorcyclist was airlifted to a trauma center Friday evening after losing control of his motorcycle in a crash south of Harrington, according to the Harrington Fire Company.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 5:16 p.m. on July 31 to South DuPont Highway near Williamsville Road for a reported high-speed motorcycle crash.

Responding crews found a single rider who had lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected during the crash.

After evaluating the rider, EMS personnel determined he required transport to a trauma center. The Delaware State Police Aviation Unit flew the patient for further treatment.

The incident was brought under control, and responding units later cleared the scene.

Agencies assisting included Harrington Fire Company, Kent County EMS, Delaware State Police Aviation, Delaware State Police Troop 3 Patrol, DelDOT Traffic Management Center and Fire Police.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
