Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County awarded $30,000 grant for veteran homes

WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. – Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Housing Assistance Council.

The grant was awarded through it the council’s 2026 Affordable Housing for Rural Veterans Initiative, with support from the Home Depot Foundation.

The funding will help provide critical repairs to three low-income veteran homes in Wicomico and Somerset Counties.

This will enable the veteran homeowners to safely age in place and eliminate health and safety hazards associated with deteriorating housing conditions.
