Cambridge Community Garden has Vegetables Stolen Ahead of Harriet Tubman Summit

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – In Cambridge, members of the community are looking for answers after a community garden was robbed.

The garden, located near Maces’ Lane Middle School had up to a dozen beds worth of vegetables stolen from it.

Vegetables from the garden were being grown as part of a farm-to-table veterans gala for the inaugural Harriet Tubman summit celebration in September.

But members of the Tubman Summit are not letting this deter them from creating this gift for the Cambridge community.

“But there is a bit of heartbreak. But within this situation, everyone is motivated, there is still hope, and folks are getting ready to rebuild. The energy is a little bit fiercer than it was before. I think this second go around, they’re determined to build, to rebuild the community garden,” says Tubman Summit volunteer, Shawna Kersley
