BREAKING: 7th Case of Coronavirus confirmed in Delaware

DELAWARE – Another case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Delaware, bringing the state’s total number of confirmed cases to seven.

State health officials say the individual is a New Castle County woman who is under the age of 30 and has ties to the University of Delaware community. The source of the woman’s exposure has not been found, but officials say they’re looking into who else was around the woman to see if anyone else could have been exposed. Health officials say the woman is “not severely ill,” and is self-isolated at home. They will not release further information about the individual.

Health officials say that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is no longer requiring presumptive positive tests to be confirmed by them, meaning that presumptive positives in Delaware are now considered confirmed.

Symptoms of coronavirus include fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
