Occupant extricated after crash requiring rescue in Seaford

SEAFORD, Del. — One person was rescued from a vehicle after becoming trapped in a crash that prompted a rescue response Sunday morning in Seaford.

The Seaford Volunteer Fire Department said crews were dispatched to a rescue box assignment for a crash involving entrapment. Upon arrival, firefighters from Engine 1 and Rescue 1 found an occupant trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters performed a sidewall removal on the vehicle to safely extricate the occupant before the patient was turned over to emergency medical personnel for treatment.

No information on the occupant’s condition or the cause of the crash was immediately available. The incident remains under investigation.
