DSP: Facebook tip leads to arrest of Dover robbery suspect

Delaware State Police say a Facebook tip led to the arrest of a robbery suspect in Dover.

We’re told 27-year-old Antonio Powell of Magnolia, was arrested for allegedly breaking into and stealing from multiple vehicles in off of South State Street and South Old Mill Road.

Police say they posted pictures from surveillance footage of the suspect, on Tuesday around 2:07 p.m.

Soon after, a tip was reportedly sent via Facebook, identifying Powell.

About an hour and a half later at 3:35 p.m., we’re told troopers located Powell in Magnolia, and arrested him during a traffic stop.

Police say Powell now faces nine counts of Theft Under $1,500, four counts of Attempted Theft under $1,500, 12 counts of 3rd Degree Criminal Trespass and Criminal Impersonation.

Powell was reportedly committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on over $9,000 cash bond.

The investigation is reportedly still ongoing. Additional charges may be brought forward.
