Milford man charged with strangulation and false imprisonment

A Milford man is facing charges, after Police say he assaulted a woman.

Milford Police say on May 23, Officers arrested 45-year-old Willie Boyette Jr., in connection with a domestic assault that happened on May 12, at a home on South Washington Street. An investigation reportedly showed that Boyette came home from work, and told a 34-year-old woman that he had had a bad day at work, and that he was still angry.

According to the report, Boyette then started punching the woman all over her entire body, ripped her clothing off, and then wouldn’t let her leave the house. Police say Boyette then started strangling the victim.

As a result of the alleged assault, the victim reportedly suffered a multiple bruises on her torso, face and extremities. After his arrest, Boyette was charged with strangulation, assault second degree, and unlawful imprisonment first degree. He was then ordered to be held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $25,000 secured bond.
