Local Businesses Host 2nd World Cup Watch Party Wednesday
SALISBURY, Md. — Another World Cup watch party is coming to downtown Salisbury.
Bury Tavern and Roadie Joes will host a watch party for Team USA’s match on Wednesday. Festivities begin at 7 p.m., just ahead of the 8 p.m. kickoff, and will run until 10 p.m.
The TAPS program will be in effect during the event, allowing attendees to enjoy beverages outdoors. Both downtown businesses are also encouraging people to grab dinner before kickoff.
Organizers are asking attendees to bring their own chairs.
Roadie Joes owner Josh Elliott said, “We’re doing the USA watch party again on the street. Thirty-foot projector screen. Fantastic turnout last time. I think it’ll be even bigger this time. We’ve got the TAPS program involved so we can have drinks in the street, but it is very kid-friendly.”
Bury Tavern owner Jordan Townsend said, “We’re just really excited to have people come out for the event. Getting people involved in a world sport like soccer is always really good for community building, especially when you’ve got two local restaurants working together to provide something really cool outdoors for families to come and enjoy. Most importantly, it’s an elimination game for the U.S., so we really need everybody cheering as hard as they can.”
