Chimes Eastern Shore School finalizes location

Chimes School Secures Md Lower Shore Location

Salisbury, Md. – The much-anticipated special needs school is coming to Salisbury and has finalized its location.

The new Chimes Eastern Shore School will expand access to services for students with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and provide behavioral support for children throughout Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

Officials have confirmed the location for the new school will be at 31193 Mount Hermon Rd. Chimes officials say they are excited to begin development.

“This is the start of a journey, where you think it might be the end of a journey,” Chimes CEO Steve DaRe said. “We’d have a place where the we can call home and that we can build upon.”

DaRe said the property was formerly home to two churches and has plenty of space for the students. However, he said there is still more renovation work to be done before the location can be ready to be a school.

“From here, it’s really the start of a journey to now turn this really fantastic property into a school and help to serve this community, both Wicomico County and the neighboring counties,” he said.

DaRe said Chimes will announce a when a ribbon cutting and key exchange ceremony will be as well as when ground breaking will take place in the coming months.
