Fatal Crash Lands Car in Milford Retention Pond

MILFORD, Del. – The Milford Police Department is investigating a fatal car crash that killed a Harrington man in the early hours of Saturday morning.
On Jun. 20 at 2:14 a.m., a 2010 Toyota Tacoma was travelling eastbound on Shawnee Road at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, the truck left the roadway in the area of the entrance/exit to Cypress Hall Shopping Center where it struck an electrical pole, a tree, and overturned several times. The truck came to a final stop on its roof in the retention pond nearby. Officers and Carlisle Fire Company firefighters rescued the sole occupant from the vehicle.
Emergency medical services performed life saving measures on the 26-year-old driver, identified as Noah Bliss. He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The area was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated.
