New Jersey Man Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run That Killed Two Teens in Townsend

TOWNSEND, Del. – A New Jersey man has been arrested and charged in connection with a hit-and-run crash that killed two teenage pedestrians in Townsend, authorities said Sunday.

The crash occurred Saturday night when the suspect allegedly struck the teens and fled the scene without stopping to render aid. Both victims died from their injuries.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the vehicle involved and located the suspect in New Jersey. He was taken into custody and charged with multiple offenses, including counts related to leaving the scene of a crash resulting in death.

The suspect was arraigned and committed to a Delaware correctional facility on a cash bond. Additional court proceedings are pending.

Officials have not released the names of the victims pending notification of family members.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information related to the incident to contact investigators.

The deaths have left the Townsend community mourning the loss of two young lives as investigators continue working to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
