Pride Celebrations Underway in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. — LGBTQ+ advocacy organization Together We Thrive is hosting Unity Day, a celebration of pride and community on Saturday, June 27th at Unity Square.
The event will feature food trucks, live music and entertainment, performances, local vendors, and more. People of all backgrounds are invited to attend and celebrate the power of “together.”
“We have five different food trucks, a lot of good entertainment — we’ve got about 30 vendors this year, so we’re going to have really good representation. A lot like pride has always been the last four years,” Founder and Executive Director of Together We Thrive Mark DeLancey said.
The event is hosted by Drag Queen Kadet Kelly. Organizers say counselors will be in attendance with resources for LGBTQ+ community members and allies.
“While we stand tall in our mission to support and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, Unity Day is a vibrant tapestry woven from every corner of the Eastern Shore. This is a day where our diverse neighbors, allies, and friends from all walks of life come together to prove that our differences are our greatest strength,” DeLancey said.
Unity Day kicks off at 4 p.m. in Unity Square, and celebrations will continue until 8 p.m. Volunteers are welcome to get involved day-of.
