Ocean City Free STI Clinic Returns for Fourth Year
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Worcester County Health Department has reopened their Ocean City sexually transmitted infection (STI) express clinic for the season.
The clinic is located at 4 Caroline Street in Ocean City, and is open from 9am to 3pm every Thursday this summer. The clinic is offering free and confidential testing and treatment for those under 18 in the area.
Summer Widmeyer is the secretary of the clinic, and says the services are necessary in reducing transmission rates during the summer months.
“So when we meet with our patients, we always encourage them to speak with their, parents or, their guardians, but they know that they can come here and they can receive confidential, testing and treatment with us.” Widemeyer said.
The clinic has been open for four seasons now, beginning in May and running until September.
“And, the the patients who we tend to see here, if they continue living in the area through, you know, the off season, months, they’ll come back to us because they value the care that we provide.” Widmeyer said.
Appointments are not required, but are encouraged.
