Laurel to Host Fourth of July Fishing Tournament on Broad Creek

LAUREL, Del. — Anglers of all ages are invited to celebrate Independence Day with a community fishing tournament on Broad Creek in Laurel.
The tournament will take place Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to noon in partnership with the Community Fourth of July Celebration at Bryan’s Bowling Center.
Participants can register beginning at 8:30 a.m. at any of the tournament’s three fishing locations: Fishers Park, Mill Dam and A&G Tackle.
Organizers say the event will feature two competition categories: most fish caught and largest fish caught. Prizes will be awarded for first-, second- and third-place finishers in each category.
The tournament is open to anglers of all ages and encourages community members to enjoy a morning of fishing while taking part in Laurel’s Independence Day festivities.
Broad Creek, which runs through the heart of Laurel, has long been a popular destination for local anglers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Additional information is available through organizers of the Community Fourth of July Celebration.
