Wicomico County Executive denies allegations of inappropriate photos sent to sheriff deputies

Salisbury, Md. – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano directly addressed rumors reported by Baltimore media that she had sent inappropriate photos to county sheriffs deputies.

On Wednesday morning, Giordano held a press conference to categorically deny the rumors that she allegedly sent photos before she became county executive. Baltimore media reported Tuesday night that Sheriff Mike Lewis confirmed the existence of a letter asking Giordano to cease and desist sending the photos.

“Let me be crystal clear — and I want there to be absolutely no misunderstanding about what I am saying — as the county executive of Wicomico County, I have never sent inappropriate photographs to a deputy, to a county employee, or to anyone else. I never have. I never would. Period,” Giordano said.

Giordano said she has insisted the allegations were false, stating there was no evidence because the alleged photos do not exist.

“For three years, I have asked for proof,” she said. “For three years I have requested that anyone making these claims produce these alleged photographs. And after three years, where are they? Where is the evidence? Where are the photographs? Where is the proof? The answer is simple. There are none.”

WMDT reached out to Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis for comment. He denied to speak on the matter.
