Body found at Indian River Inlet; DSP Investigating

SUSSEX COUNTY, Del. – The Delaware State Police (DSP) are investigating after a dead body was found on the Indian River Inlet late Tuesday night.

At 11:50 p.m. on Jun. 2, troopers responded to the Indian River Inlet portion of Delaware Seashore State Park for a report of a person lying face down on the beach. When state park officers, Sussex County EMS, and DSP troopers arrived, they found an unresponsive 63-year-old man and began life-saving efforts.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was turned over to the Division of Forensic Science to determine the cause of death.

Police say the investigation does not appear to be suspicious, but remains active.
