DSP Conducting Death Investigation of Smyrna 10-Year-Old

SMYRNA, Del. – The Delaware State Police is conducting a death investigation of a 10-year-old in Smyrna.

On Thursday, May 28, at approximately 2:00 a.m., troopers responded to a residence on Oakwynn Circle in Smyrna after a 10-year-old child was found deceased in her bedroom. During the initial investigation, responding troopers requested assistance from the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, which has assumed the investigation.

The victim was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the cause and manner of death.

This is an active investigation.
