DNR Announces ADA Upgrades to Assateague Bathhouses
ASSATEAGUE ISLAND, Md. – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has announced a major upgrade in Assateague State Park’s bathroom facilities.
Officials say newly renovated beach-side facilities now include all new fixtures, bathrooms, changing stations and showers. Additionally, the facilities house 12 new American with Disabilities Act (ADA)-accessible showers along the boardwalk for guests to rinse off salt and sand.
Inside the renovated bathrooms, solar tube passive lighting has been installed to allow more light, and durable slip resistant flooring has been added for safety.
