Single-Vehicle Crash Under Investigation Near Millsboro

MILLSBORO, Del. — Emergency crews responded Saturday evening to a single-vehicle crash east of Millsboro, according to fire officials.

The accident was reported around 6:33 p.m. on Cannon Road near Mount Joy Road. Initial reports indicated the crash involved one vehicle and possibly one patient.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company responded with units from both its Oak Orchard and Long Neck stations, while the Mid Sussex Rescue Squad also assisted at the scene. The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control during the incident.

Firefighters and emergency personnel worked to stabilize the patient and vehicle, while also handling fluid and debris cleanup and other hazard mitigation efforts.

Officials said a maroon Toyota Corolla was traveling on Cannon Road when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage, and the airbags deployed during the collision.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
