One person dead after car hits pedestrian in Pocomoke

POCOMOKE, Md. – One person died after being hit by a vehicle in Pocomoke City.

Just before 2 p.m. Tuesday, the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company responded to a reported crash in the 1000 block of Ocean Highway.

Crews arrived on scene to find a pedestrian who had been hit by a vehicle.

According to the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was shut down for a short time while emergency crews operated.

The Pocomoke City Police Department and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident.
