Three Wicomico Co. Men Arrested for Shooting at Dover Capital Inn
DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department has arrested three men from Wicomico County in connection with a shooting at the Capital Inn that occurred on Wednesday night.
Police have arrested 21-year-old Isaiah Williams of Salisbury, 24-year-old Tashawn Gantt, and 18-year-old Keangello Crump of Delmar. The men each face similar charges, including two counts of possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts of first degree reckless endangerment, and related gun crimes. Williams and Gantt were committed to the Sussex Correctional Institute (SCI) on cash bonds of $165,100 and $166,100, respectively. Crump was committed to SCI on a $105,100 secured bond.
On Apr. 29 at 11:26 p.m., officers responded to the Capital Inn on North DuPont Highway for reports of shots fired. As officers responded, a witness called 911 and advised that subjects were seen running into a gray Ford Flex SUV that fled southbound on DuPont Highway. Arriving officers discovered that an occupied hotel room had a shattered window and multiple shots through the door. The room was occupied by three juveniles at the time of the incident, aged 17, 13, and 12. In addition to the damage, 12 shell casings were located at the scene.
A short time later, the Delaware State Police (DSP) conducted a traffic stop on the Ford Flex in the Camden, Delaware area. The vehicle was occupied by Williams, Gantt, and Crump, in addition to a 34-year-old female driver that was not charged in the incident.
Williams, Gantt, and Crump were all taken into custody wearing the same clothing as shown on the video from the Capital Inn shooting. Additionally, two 9mm handguns were located inside of the vehicle, with one being reported stolen out of DSP Troop 7.
